A 'scissors' dancer grabs her shoe with her mouth while performing in a national scissors dance competition in the outskirts of Lima. The Danza de las tijeras is a traditional dance from the Peruvian southern region of the Andes, in which two or more performers take turns dancing while accompanied with music from a harp and a violin. Dancers would display various skills and moves, which include cutting the air with the use of scissors.

Ukrainian opposition leaders called on Sunday for President Viktor Yanukovich and his government to resign at a rally of about 350,000 people, the biggest protest in the capital Kiev since the 'Orange Revolution' of nine years ago.

The Long March-3B rocket carrying the Chang'e-3 lunar probe blasts off from the launch pad at Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Sichuan province. The Chang'e-3 lunar probe comprises a lander and a moon rover called 'Yu Tu' (Jade Rabbit) which will be deployed to explore the surface of the moon. The lunar probe is expected to land on the moon in mid-December.

Bao Bao, a giant panda cub, is measured as it is about to turn 100 days old, at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington. The zoo announced naming its giant panda cub Bao Bao after receiving more than 123,000 votes from the public. She is only the second surviving panda cub born in Washington.

A Metro-North passenger train lays on it's side after derailing in the Bronx borough of New York. The train derailed on a curved section of track in the Bronx on Sunday morning, coming to rest just inches from the water and causing multiple fatalities and dozens of injuries, authorities said.
