Ingredients :
  • 1 cup - All-purpose flour or Maida
  • 1 - medium sized Onion
  • 3 - Green chillies
  • 1.5 cup - yogurt or buttermilk
  • Coriander leaves or Cilantro (both are same)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying


How to Make Punugulu :
  1. Cut onion, green chillies and coriander leaves into small pieces. Keep aside.
  2. Mix maida and yogurt into a thick mix with a consistency of idli mix.
  3. See that it does not become runny. If it does, you can add a little more maida to it.
  4. Add cut onions, green chillies, coriander leaves and salt to this mix.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. It has to be very hot.
  6. Make small balls of this mix and deep fry them in oil till they turn golden brown.
