Yes, it's adorable the way your partner is 100 percent involved in this relationship. But constant comparisons to the ex might also indicate that they are still not over their past. More than a compliment, are they trying to reassure themselves that this is a good thing?

Of course, you are amazing. But constantly talking about how good you are, as compared to them is also a way for them to put pressure on you to constantly validate them. The conversations always goes like, "You are way more amazing than I am" and you going, "No no, you are amazing too" You get it; it is not fun to do this all your life.
