It's been a rather unprecedented high for Aamir Khan, who closed the year (2016) with the highest-grossing film in the history of Indian cinema.
So much so that it took time even for the actor to register the record-breaking numbers of his latest release.
"It's one of the most passionate responses I have ever received. I want to thank everyone for accepting the film as their own. It's the biggest compliment that a creative person can receive. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, and especially Nitesh sir (Tiwari; director)," says an "overwhelmed" Aamir.
His latest film (still running in cinemas) collected '345.30 crore till Sunday (net Indian box-office collection). In fact, the film has broken the record of his own film, PK (2014), which had collected '340.80 crore.
Coincidentally, it was Aamir who was a founder member of the '100 crore club, '200 crore club and '300 core club with Ghajini (2008), 3 Idiots (2009) and PK, respectively.
